First Thing:
Say Hi to Freddy!
Second thing:
Start Packing this is not a camp site to be missed!
Echoes in the Valley
This is where we camped, and honestly, what a little hidden gem.
Echoes in the Valley is tucked away about ten minutes outside of Gatton, right in the heart of the Lockyer Valley, and offers up some seriously sublime views across the valley.
The best part? The privacy.
Each camper has their own secluded little hideaway, giving you that feeling that you've genuinely left the paved road behind and headed off on a proper adventure.
We had the entire campsite completely to ourselves. Just Freddy and me.
Yep, solo girl camp. 🏕️
And you know what? I felt completely safe the entire time.
The campsite is booked through Hipcamp and is honestly really affordable for a night away.
It's listed as 4WD only, but I'd say if you've got something with decent clearance, like a Forester or something similar, you'd probably be okay. My little Jimny made it up there with no dramas and I didn't even need to put it into 4WD.
Obviously, always use your own judgement and check the conditions before heading in, but for us, it was an easy little adventure.
The Lockyer Valley is Pretty Dog-Friendly
One of the things I love about exploring the Lockyer Valley is how easy it is to bring your four-legged adventure buddy along.
There are plenty of campgrounds that welcome pets, plus pubs, cafes and other local spots where your dog can tag along too.
And if you're heading back through Gatton, make sure you stop in at Lake Apex. It's a great spot to stretch your legs after a night of camping, with an off-leash area where the dogs can run wild.
Freddy certainly wasn't complaining.
